An Introduction

Hello!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I have decided (with a little encouragement from my friends) to start a blog that just tracks some of the Lego designing I do.

I have been obsessed with Lego since I was a little girl. Whilst all the other girls were dressing up their Barbies, I was just putting bricks together, making houses for my meager minifigure collection. I started with Duplo, at age 2 or 3, demanding that my father make me houses before he and mum could leave the house. And from there, my obsession with all things Lego escalated. I have been collecting for as long as I can remember, and have amassed quite an impressive collection!

I loved designing houses when I was little, and I would draw a plan on paper and then make it out of bricks. Every weekend there would be a different house; I would start over on Saturday morning and build all day. The house would stand for a week, and then it was time to refresh. As I got older though, school work took up far too much time, and I sadly could no longer work on my Lego creations with such diligence. I didn't stop collecting though (requesting sets for my 16 birthday, and Christmases, even when my mother vowed to never buy Lego for me again!), and even managed to work Lego into my school projects.

Once I finished school, I knew that I wanted to continue down the road of designing. Figuring I couldn't study Lego at university, I decided on the next best thing; Architecture. And so, I have been studying how to create full-sized houses, and though no quite so colourful, still incredibly enjoyable.

And all the while, I have continued to create Lego designs, in any spare time I have (which is little in the Architecture world...). In fact, the only thing I wanted for my 21st birthday was one of my OWN Lego designs (which I got :D) My major aspiration would be to design for the Lego Company one day. I hope to continue designing well into the future, and this blog is intended to track my progress... so ... enjoy!

Emma

P.S. Massive gaps in posting are probably due to enormous architectural workloads XD
